Author, Journalist, Professor
Andrew Westoll is an award-winning author, journalist, and teacher based in Toronto. You may have also seen him on campus as a full-time Lecturer in Creative Writing. How does Westoll converge realities? Before turning to writing, Westoll trained as a field primatologist in the remote jungles of Suriname, where he spent a year chasing after wild troops of brown capuchin monkeys. His latest book, The Chimps of Fauna Sanctuary, tells the remarkable true story of a family of chimpanzees who were rescued from a medical research lab to live out their retirement at an animal sanctuary on the south shore of Montreal.
