We’re Kind of Awesome.
Back in May, we began our recruitment of new additions to the team, searching high and low for those who embody the passion and character of TEDxUTSC the most. After we met a lot of amazing people, we had to limit our selection to the 13 wonderful members of our current team! Together, we make up the executive team of TEDxUTSC and we have been working hard to bring you TEDxUTSC 2014: Converging Realities.
Our Executives
Samiha Imami
Candle enthusiast, human encyclopedia, and memory jogger. Samiha communicates with whales in her free time and is known for her wide variety of ridiculous facial expressions and unhealthy obsession with makeup. Verified Cumber(girl).
Kittie Chan
Besides being a food enthusiast, music lover and technology geek, Kittie is known to spend her time trotting around the city with her nutty friends and her trusted sidekick, Mini Coops.
Yuri Curumthaully
Yuri is fascinated by the creation of ideas. Certain of “the unity of humankind in the divine matrix”, he is a bridge builder for people of different realities. Sensitive to the invisible hand and eye, he gives others comfort that there is a purpose beyond our humdrum lives.

Narsingh Dixit
Narsingh Dixit, who just completed his 8-month coop at Microsoft Canada, is a tech-junkie, a passionate entrepreneur, and an innovative marketer. One of his important life learnings from Einstein that he shares with his peers is that, ‘Imagination is more important than knowledge.’
Amanda Brijmohan
Amanda is infatuated with learning, and is inspired by innovation. Amanda never takes anything at face value, and believes that the true breadth of a story can only be appreciated when looked at through different lenses. When excited, she excessively talks with her hands and in her spare time, uses those very hands to unwind on the piano.

Marah Ayad
Marah will take you where you are too scared to go. She will dare you and push your limits. A day spent with Marah is never boring. This adventure-seeking gal is totally the outdoorsy type and will leave you going home with a totally different perspective.
Colin Bested
Colin’s current life goal is to learn as much as he can and pass on ideas. He is often found auditing classes and talking to profs and idea folk, which more recently involves exploring and developing the ideas of UTSC faculty and staff, on behalf of TEDxUTSC. He is always up for a thought provoking question or dialogue. Always.
Ayesha Haq
Ayesha’s mind is filled with thoughts on good lines from poems, plays, movies and novels. You will always find her connecting life to art and make you go mad with a flood of arguments. When not analyzing the aesthetics of life, she can be found in the kitchen whipping up something appealing to the palette or singing a track from her playlist which will captivate whoever is nearby.
Amanda Keh
When not found with her nose buried in a good book, Amanda can be found guffawing at hilarious reruns of her favourite shows. She never knows the full or correct lyrics to songs but nonetheless, she enjoys belting out songs in empty bus shelters every chance she gets. Her weakness is Urban Outfitters, baby feet and can only boast incredible stamina when it comes to dancing.
Elora Vink
Elora volunteers in many roles on various teams, but being a Director of Stage Development and Design with TEDxUTSC is one of the coolest. She enjoys colour coding, cheesy music and chocolate covered everything, and coaches synchronized swimming in her spare time.
Sangeeta Acharya
Sangeeta is that song you can’t get out of your mind, that tune that you live your life by and that rhythm you feel in your soul. She is a connection and an experience. You’ll always find her trying new ingredients in different combinations, forever in search of the perfect recipe.
Jennifer Zhang
It’s not awkward until Jennifer says it’s awkward. When not in awkward situations, she likes to pet bunnies, design things, and belt out the wrong lyrics at concerts.
Anthony Ou
Anthony loves #ridiculous hash tags, Internet memes, and stock photos. Thinking of himself as being the ‘Hermes’ (the messenger to and from the gods in Greek mythology) of TEDxUTSC, he is actually Ken Jeong meets your favourite Pussycat Doll every Friday night.
