04 Feb ‘Twas The Night Before TEDx
‘Twas the night before TEDx and all through the school
Students decorated the halls to make it look cool.
The posters were hung on the walls with care
In hopes that the delegates soon would be there
Oh, how they wished to be snug in their beds,
For the crash of all-nighters began rising in their heads.
As the leads and directors wanted to slump and sleep
The associates worked on like a tight knit fleet.
When out in the hall, there arose such a smell
Melted cheese and dough, it was PIZZA! Can’t you tell?
Away, out the meeting place, they flew like a flash
To meet the pizza man, in his lovely pizza sash.
They ate with such joy, and smiles on their faces
Knowing they had been saved by the Pizza God’s graces.
They feasted and frolicked until their stomachs were full
And rested their feet for as long as they could.
Then they worked, and they worked, all through the night
With no brightness at all, except the dim moon light
As the hours ticked on, and the sun seemed to rise
TEDx members had tears in their eyes.
Not of sadness, but of joy, for the day had come
Where ideas would be spread for everyone.
More rapid than eagles TEDx delegates came
When Daniela, the chair, called everyone by name:
“Now Talha, now Reema, now Andrei and Chantel
On Bushra, on Tanvi, Mobeen and Gabrielle!”
But this day of ideas would not come so easy
When the night before they all felt a bit queasy.
As they worked together, and put in all their strengths
No feat seemed too large, too hard or at length
For this was the night before TEDx, and it would not be possible
Because everyone’s heart and hard work was unstoppable.
This endless night of teamwork and pizza galore
Felt like nothing at all, we even craved more.
And in the end the lesson we learned is,
No work was too hard for TEDxUTSC: Ellipses.
